How we handle your data.
Effective April 1, 2026
This page explains what we collect when you use Grounded Gus, what we don't, how long we keep things, and how to reach us if you want any of it removed.
The short version
- We collect what you give us. Your messages to Gus, and your email if you write to us — nothing more.
- We don't want sensitive data. Don't share Social Security numbers, account numbers, or financial credentials. Gus will steer away from them.
- We don't sell your data. No marketing lists, no advertising trackers, and no sharing with anyone outside the small set of service providers that help us run the site.
- You can ask us to delete it. Email us and we'll remove what we have. A small set of records — log entries, billing data — may need to stay for a defined retention window where the law requires it.
More detail
Cookies and analytics
We use a small number of first-party cookies for session continuity and a privacy-friendly analytics tool to count visits in aggregate. We do not run advertising trackers, and we do not sell behavioral data.
How long we keep things
Chat conversations are kept for a short window so a session can survive a refresh, then expire automatically. Inbound emails stay until you ask us to remove them. We retain records longer only where a law or regulation requires it.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live — including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws — you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or limit certain uses of your information, and to appeal a decision we make. To exercise any of these rights, write to privacy@groundedone.io and tell us what you'd like us to do. We'll respond within the time the applicable law requires.
Children
Grounded Gus isn't designed for or directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has shared personal information with us, write to us and we'll delete it.
If you become a Grounded Wealth client
The privacy notice you'll receive.
Grounded Wealth, LLC is a registered investment adviser, and federal law (the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and SEC Regulation S-P) requires it to give every client a formal privacy notice at account opening, and again each year. That notice is the controlling document for the adviser relationship. The summary below is a plain-language preview of what you'll receive.
- Why
- Financial companies choose how they share your personal information. Federal law gives you the right to limit some, but not all, of that sharing — and it requires us to tell you how we collect, share, and protect it.
- What
- The information we collect depends on the services you receive. It can include your Social Security number, account balances, transaction history, investment experience, and assets.
- How
- We protect that information with administrative, technical, and physical safeguards — including access controls, encryption in transit and at rest, and written policies that limit who inside the firm can see what.
How we share, in plain language
- For everyday business: yes — to process transactions, maintain your accounts, respond to court orders, and meet our regulatory obligations. Federal law does not allow you to opt out of this sharing.
- For our own marketing: yes, to tell you about services we offer. You can ask us to stop at any time.
- For affiliates' marketing: no.
- For nonaffiliates' marketing: no.
- For joint marketing with other financial companies: only where we've put a written contract in place that limits how the partner can use your information.
The full notice — including the categories of information we collect, the parties we share it with, and how to limit sharing where the law permits — will be delivered with your account paperwork. You can request a copy at any time by writing to privacy@groundedone.io.
